Dr. Rakesh Verma · MS (Orthopaedics), Fellowship in Joint Replacement

Bone, joint and spine care for everyday problems

Consultant orthopaedic surgeon with 14 years of practice in knee and hip replacement, fracture care and back pain. The OPD runs six days a week; walk-ins are seen after booked patients.

घुटने, कूल्हे, कमर और हड्डी की चोट का इलाज — OPD सोमवार से शनिवार।

What is treated here

Common orthopaedic problems, explained in plain language so you know whether this is the right place to come.

Knee and hip arthritis

Pain while walking, climbing stairs or getting up. Managed with medication and physiotherapy first; replacement surgery only when it is genuinely needed.

Fractures and injuries

Plaster, splinting and surgical fixation for broken bones, along with follow-up X-rays until the bone unites.

Back and neck pain

Slip disc, sciatica and long-standing back pain. Most patients improve without surgery.

Sports injuries

Ligament tears, meniscus injuries and shoulder dislocation, including arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery where suitable.

Joint replacement

Knee and hip replacement, with planning, surgery and rehabilitation followed through in the same clinic.

Children's bone problems

Bow legs, flat feet and childhood fractures, with parents told clearly what needs treatment and what will correct itself.

What happens at your visit

A first consultation usually takes about 20 minutes.

  1. Bring your old records

Previous X-rays, MRI films, reports and the medicines you are currently taking — including those from other doctors.

  2. Registration at the front desk

Name, age and phone number are recorded, and your file is opened or pulled up if you have visited before.

  3. Examination

The doctor examines the joint, checks movement and discusses how the problem started and what makes it worse.

  4. X-ray or tests, if required

Only when they will change the treatment. You are told what each test is for before it is advised.

  5. Treatment plan

Medicines, exercises or surgery — with the option of taking a second opinion, which is always welcome.

Questions patients ask

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Walk-in patients are seen, but after those with appointments. On busy days that can mean a long wait, so a booked slot is easier.

Will I need surgery?

Most orthopaedic problems are treated without surgery. If an operation is advised, the reason, the alternatives and the recovery time are explained before you decide.

Is there an X-ray facility here?

X-rays are done at the diagnostic centre in the same building. If you already have recent films, a repeat is usually not needed.

Are insurance and government schemes accepted?

Cashless admission is handled at the attached hospital. Bring your card and ID at the time of planning the surgery.

Can I get advice over the phone?

Diagnosis is not given over the phone. The front desk can help with timings, reports and follow-up dates.
